September 2010
After a very successful exhibition at the Pond Gallery, Snape Maltings, where my new style of painting in watercolours was well received,
I am now continuing to work in that style (see: Gallery/Watercolours), experimenting with differing subject matter, such as local scenes involving boats and fishing as well as images of fish.I intend to continue using plant forms and flowers in this way and
I also haven’t completely abandoned my oils.
Soon, I hope to embark upon a series of skies in oils, to which end I am daily out on the beach taking early photographs.
The little drawing class I started a year ago has blossomed into a potentially large painting group, where I do not intend formal teaching
but will help and advise individually where required. Beginners and more experienced artists are all welcome but for the time being the
book is closed at 20 people. There will be a waiting list for all those who are keen to join us whenever a space becomes available.
The expansion of this group has meant a change of venue and evening. Meetings will now take place on Tuesdays from 7-9 p.m.
(starting 7 September 2010), at the Friends’ Mission Hall in St. George’s Road Pakefield, where there will be enough space for all to paint,
draw, collage, etc. but materials must be limited to water-based only. The fee is £30 half-termly in advance (payable at first session for 6 sessions).
This is to cover the cost of hiring the hall plus tea, coffee and biscuits at half-time!
There may also be funds for the occasional demonstration or life model.
Happy painting!
